Stroke & Neuro Emergency
At Amandeep Hospitals, our neurology and spine experts combine accuracy, advanced technology and a multidisciplinary approach to deliver world-class treatment for complex neurological and spinal conditions.
Our specialists collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, pain management experts and critical care teams to develop personalised care plans that ensure comprehensive recovery — not just a completed procedure.
Equipped with modern neuroimaging, high-magnification surgical tools and structured rehabilitation programmes, the Institute focuses on minimising complications, expediting recovery and restoring quality of life.
The Institute brings together:
Neurological conditions rarely involve one specialist alone.
Neurosurgeons, neurologists, intensivists, anaesthetists and rehabilitation therapists at Amandeep review complex cases together — so every decision, from imaging to discharge planning, is made with the whole patient in view.
Successful neuro and spine care depends on accurate diagnosis, the right surgical approach and disciplined recovery. At Amandeep, each of these is built into the Institute.
CT, MRI, EEG and nerve conduction studies available in-house, so the diagnosis is established before any treatment decision is made.
High-magnification operating microscopes and modern instrumentation for brain tumour, aneurysm and complex spine surgery.
Endoscopic and tubular approaches through small incisions — less muscle damage, less pain and earlier walking for suitable patients.
A dedicated Neuro ICU with ventilator support and continuous neurological monitoring after surgery, stroke or head injury.
Physiotherapy, occupational, speech and swallowing therapy planned alongside surgery so recovery starts the moment it safely can.
The Institute manages the full spectrum of neurological and spinal disease — emergency and elective, surgical and non-surgical.
Benign and malignant tumours of the brain and skull base, planned on MRI and CT.
Time-critical stroke pathway with rapid imaging, clot-dissolving therapy and surgical decompression.
Emergency evacuation of clots and stabilisation after road accidents and falls.
Nerve compression in the neck and lower back causing radiating pain, numbness or weakness.
Narrowing of the lumbar or cervical spinal canal limiting walking distance and balance.
Scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, fractures and degenerative instability requiring stabilisation.
Aneurysms and vascular malformations managed with the neurology and imaging teams.
EEG-guided seizure management and medical care for Parkinson's and related disorders.
CSF diversion procedures and release surgery for carpal tunnel and other nerve entrapments.
Every option, from medication and physiotherapy to microsurgery and spinal fixation, is considered before a treatment plan is agreed with you.
Microsurgical removal of tumours of the brain and skull base, planned on MRI and CT and followed by oncology review where needed.
Emergency evacuation of clots and decompressive surgery for severe head injury and intracranial bleeding.
Removal of a prolapsed disc or bony narrowing that presses on nerves, relieving sciatica and arm pain.
Endoscopic and tubular approaches through small incisions, with less muscle damage and earlier mobilisation.
Screw-and-rod stabilisation for unstable, fractured or degenerated spinal segments and deformity correction.
CSF diversion procedures, including shunts and endoscopic third ventriculostomy.
Release and repair for entrapment syndromes and nerve injury, including carpal tunnel release.
Rapid imaging, clot-dissolving treatment for eligible patients and stroke-unit care to limit disability.
Not sure whether you need surgery?
Many spine and nerve problems improve without an operation. A specialist evaluation is the only way to know which path is right for you.
Get EvaluatedIn neurological illness, minutes matter and millimetres matter. The Institute is equipped so that neither is lost.
Imaging, theatre, intensive care and rehabilitation sit under one roof — so a stroke patient can move from CT to treatment, and a spine patient from theatre to physiotherapy, without delay or transfer.
What supports the clinical team:
Imaging and instrumentation give the neurosurgical team better information before and during surgery.
The clinical decision — whether to operate, how, and when — always rests with an experienced specialist who has examined you.
Neurological tissue does not regenerate the way bone or skin does. That is why every element of care at the Institute is designed to protect function first.
Senior neurosurgeons and spine surgeons with fellowship training in neuro-oncology, complex spine and endoscopic techniques.
Neurosurgery, neurology, orthopaedics, critical care and rehabilitation work as one team rather than separate departments.
Patients from across Punjab, J&K and Himachal Pradesh are referred to Amandeep for complex brain and spine care.
Clinical pathways built around early mobilisation, pain control and physiotherapy so patients regain independence sooner.
Seven coordinated stages — from the first assessment of your symptoms to the day you return to the life you had.
A neurosurgeon or neurologist evaluates your symptoms, history and neurological examination.
MRI, CT, EEG or nerve studies establish exactly what is causing the problem and where.
Non-surgical options are considered first; where surgery is needed, the least invasive effective approach is chosen.
Microsurgical or minimally invasive procedures performed in a dedicated neuro theatre.
Close monitoring in the Neuro ICU where required, with early detection of any complication.
Physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapy tailored to restore strength, movement and function.
Structured follow-up until you are back to work, family and the activities that matter to you.
Start at step one.
Book a consultation and let a specialist assess your symptoms.
Book NowA neurosurgical procedure is successful when it gives a patient their life back.
For one person, that means walking without sciatica. For another, it means returning to work after a brain tumour, speaking clearly again after a stroke, or simply sleeping through the night without nerve pain.
Our approach therefore extends well beyond the operation itself.
Freedom from the nerve pain that limits daily life.
Restoring safe walking, balance and movement.
Helping patients return to self-care, work and family roles.
Because the real outcome of neuro care is the life you get back.
It is Surgeon + Technology + Team + Patient.
Neuroimaging and microsurgery provide detail that was unimaginable a generation ago.
Minimally invasive techniques let us reach the problem with less disruption to healthy tissue.
But no scan or instrument can make a clinical judgement.
At Amandeep, advanced technology is placed in the hands of experienced neuro and spine specialists — with one objective:
Neurosurgeons, spine surgeons and neurologists with fellowship training in neuro-oncology, complex spine and endoscopic surgery.

A neurologist diagnoses and treats neurological disorders such as epilepsy, migraine and Parkinson's disease using non-surgical methods. A neurosurgeon performs surgery on the brain, spine and nervous system. At Amandeep both work together, so you are seen by the right specialist for your condition.
Spine surgery may be considered if you have persistent back or neck pain, weakness, numbness or difficulty walking — especially when caused by a herniated disc, spinal stenosis or instability that has not responded to physiotherapy, medication and other conservative treatment.
Minimally invasive spine surgery uses smaller incisions and disturbs less muscle and tissue than open surgery. For suitable patients this means less post-operative pain, a shorter hospital stay and faster return to activity, with a lower risk of some complications.
Brain tumours, brain haemorrhage and aneurysm, head and spinal cord injury, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spinal deformity and instability, hydrocephalus, and nerve compression syndromes such as sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Spinal fusion joins two or more vertebrae so that they heal into a single, stable segment, usually with screws and rods. It is recommended for instability, fractures, spondylolisthesis, deformity or severe degeneration where decompression alone would leave the spine unstable.
Recovery varies with the procedure and your overall health. Many patients undergoing minimally invasive spine surgery walk within a day and return to light activity in a few weeks; complex brain or fusion surgery may need several weeks to months with structured rehabilitation. Your surgeon will give you a personal timeline.
You don't have to live with nerve pain, weakness or the uncertainty of an undiagnosed neurological symptom.
Get evaluated by our neuro and spine specialists and understand which treatment — surgical or non-surgical — is right for you.
Protecting function. Restoring life.
